With automatic height, the original ratio is retained within 256 × 256 blocks. Set both dimensions to use Fit padding or Crop. Partial transparency blends with your chosen background.

Choose or exclude individual blocks

Saving keeps only the derived block matrix and row progress, never the source photo. Restored blueprints can be viewed and exported; upload the original again to change conversion settings.

Upload an image or try the original example to make your first blueprint.

Click a block, or focus the preview and use the arrow keys, to inspect its ID and wall coordinates.

Ready. Nothing is uploaded.

Block Preview uses representative color tiles and material numbers, not copied game textures. All IDs here are Java 1.21.1 IDs. Colors vary with texture packs and game lighting.

One stack contains 64 blocks. Full stacks are counted separately for each material; empty cells are excluded.

Step-by-Step Building Guide

Build a vertical wall facing it from the front. Column 1 is the left edge; row 1 is the bottom row. Work upward, leaving empty cells unfilled.

Before you create. Java Edition 1.21.1 block IDs; 48 representative block colors. Colors approximate texture averages, not lighting or map-art colors. Export PNG blueprints and CSV materials; no automatic placement, game pack, .schem or .litematic export. Images stay in memory. Up to three generated blueprints and their row progress can be saved locally in this browser.

How to Make Pixel Art in Minecraft

This Minecraft pixel art creator scales your image to a block grid, compares colors in CIELAB, and chooses the nearest enabled block. Wool, concrete and terracotta provide 48 verified Java block IDs. Excluding a block recalculates the blueprint and its material list.

Use Fit to keep your whole image or Crop to fill a chosen shape. Collect the counted materials, start from the bottom wall row, and use the guide to work upward. The pixel art generator Minecraft players use here produces a manual building plan; it does not place blocks automatically or generate a map-art color model.

A pixel art maker Minecraft builders can use without mods

Upload your own image, select a size and palette, then download PNG blueprints and a CSV material list. Every preview cell comes from the same block matrix used by the material counts and row guide. No account, server upload, mod or paid API is required.

Try an original example

The example button draws an original small landscape locally. No external artwork or large example download is needed. You can replace it with your own PNG, JPEG or WebP.

Use your blueprint and material list

Blueprint PNG exports the block colors, with an optional grid. Grid Blueprint PNG adds numbered coordinates and a material legend. Both use the generated matrix, independent of screen zoom and selected-row highlighting. The CSV includes English block names, Java IDs, quantities, full stacks and remainders, with UTF-8 encoding for spreadsheet apps.

Blueprints target upright wall pixel art. A color swatch is a texture-average approximation: directional lighting, custom resource packs and map-art rules can change the appearance. Java IDs are checked against Mojang Java 1.21.1 client data; see official version metadata. No game textures are distributed. Bedrock IDs and automatic game import are not claimed.

Minecraft Pixel Art Generator FAQ

Is this Minecraft pixel art maker free?

Yes. Conversion and exports run in your browser without registration, paid APIs or a backend. Your source images are not uploaded.

How does “image to pixel art minecraft” conversion choose blocks?

The tool samples your image into a grid, composites partial transparency, converts colors to CIELAB and selects the nearest enabled representative block color. The result is deterministic for the same sampled pixels and palette; no random dithering is applied.

Why does my photo look different from the blocks in game?

A limited block palette cannot reproduce every photo color. Representative colors average the Java textures. Lighting, texture packs and viewing angles can change the final wall. Try a larger grid or a different palette.

Can I resume a build after refreshing?

Yes, when local storage is available. Up to three derived blueprints and their completed rows stay in this browser. The source photo stays in memory only. Clearing site data, private browsing limits or changing browser/domain can remove access to saved work.

Why is a large image rejected or reduced?

Inputs are limited to 10 MB and 32 megapixels. Accepted images are reduced to at most 1024 pixels per side for processing; output is limited to 256 blocks per side. Resize a larger source before importing it. Animated files are not supported.

Can I download a schematic or use Bedrock block IDs?

This version exports PNG and CSV for manual building using Java 1.21.1 IDs. It does not export .schem, .litematic or a game resource pack, and does not claim Bedrock ID validation.
